Situated in the Rivertown neighborhood of Tarryhill, this client wanted the unfinished basement of their new home to be thoughtfully reimagined to better serve the needs of their young family. Housemade Design transformed the space into a colorful, multi-purpose level designed for everyday living, creativity, and quality time.

The new basement was envisioned as a “get messy” family gathering space – to watch movies, play games, get crafty, or simply unwind together after a busy day. Balancing functionality with comfort, the design incorporates durable, family-friendly materials, generous storage solutions for toys and art supplies, and flexible zones that adapt to a variety of activities.

Housemade Design worked closely with the clients to honor the character of the home while introducing fun, contemporary elements that brighten the lower level.
